SUPER LEAGUE'S SCARIEST XIII

Post by josie andrews »

13 of the scariest Super League stars; players you wouldn't want running at you or hitting you.

Sitaleki Akauola
The ultimate hitter, there were countless occasions this year where Sitaleki Akauola ran into, and over his opponents, he's not only a beast on the pitch, but there's plenty of rumours he's a beast in the gym.

Tommy Leuluai
Pound for Pound the biggest hitter in Super League, his hit on Alex Walmsley over the Easter period sent shockwaves through the DW Stadium - it was that hard.

Ben Murdoch-Masila
You know when 'Big Ben' is on the pitch, the buzz around the ground is electric with the anticipation of a big hit or powerful run, he put in three massive hits in one game against Wakefield this year.

Sam Moa
Sam Moa is in the same category as Tommy Leuluai, one of the smaller guys but when he hits you it's like a cannonball.

Mose Masoe
Mose Masoe is Hull KR's version of 'Big Ben', in full-flow there's no stopping his powerful runs, and when he hits, he hits hard.

Matty Lees
Matty Lees was the 2019 Super League Young Player of the Year, instead of running from danger, Lees runs towards it and hits hard.

David Fifita
Wakefield's cult hero, David Fifita is a big guy blessed with an enigmatic character, and once he gets in full-flow there's no stopping the big prop-forward even when he picks the ball up on the wing and takes it the full length.

Micky McIlorum
Completely different to any other player on the list, it's probably best not to mess with Catalans Dragons' hooker, Micky McIlorum. He plays with intensity, he's fierce and he takes no prisoners.

Konrad Hurrell
Early in the season, Konrad Hurrell let Zak Hardaker know he was there, a big hit left Hardaker struggling to get back to his feet. However, he's better known for his powerful runs.

Kelepi Tanginoa
Wakefield Trinity signed Tanginoa halfway through the season, he put in one of the hits of the season against Huddersfield and made some powerful breaks.

Luke Thompson
According to his former coach, Justin Holbrook, Thompson is 'the best prop in the world', he was the best player in the 2019 Grand Final winning the Harry Sunderland Trophy. Thompson is one of the most powerful runners in the league and built in the same mould as his team mate Lees.

Liam Watts
Liam Watts was on the shortlist of five for the 2019 Man of Steel, the tough tackling, powerful forward has one of the best engines for a prop in the league.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
