Starting XIII for Warrington?

Post by ancientnloyal »

I know we have a few weeks yet and two big friendlies to warm up but what’s your thinking of a starting 13?

I’d go:

French
Marshall
Hankinson
Hardaker
Burgess

Hastings
Leuluai
Powell

Partington
Burgess

Isa
Greenwood

Smithies

Clubb, Farrell, Clark, Harry Smith

James Slevin
Ces Mountford
And the “kind of rugby player you’d want to be in your dreams” James Leytham
Should be in the Wigan Warriors Hall

1. Hardaker
2. Marshall
3. Hankinson
4. Bibby
5. Burgess
6. Hastings
7. Leuluai
8. Burgess
9. Powell
10. Partington
11. Greenwood
12. Farrell
13. O'Loughlin

14. Bullock
15. Clark
16. Isa
17. Flower

I would also have a fully fit Manfredi in the starting team but not sure if he will be ready for the first game.

Surely we have to try Bevan and Jackson at 6 and 7? It's the only chance before the season starts and this partnership is the big hope and the big unknown for 2021. No need to rush Manfredi now that we have the reserves back. Liam Marshall is a great back up and I'm sure he'll start the season.

Squad v Wire.

Hardaker,
Marshall, Hankinson, Bibby, J Burgess.
French, Hastings.
G Burgess, Powell, Bullock,
Farrell, Greenwood,
O'Loughlin.

Clark, Clubb, Isa, Smith.

Time to see past Tommy as a half. Go with something different that Wire would have difficulty dealing with. French in the middle could cause them real problems with his strength and pace.

While i agree that we need to try something other than tommy at half (hes no spring chicken) his bit hit ups in defence are needed.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Then Lobby gobblers at the LSV Thursday 23rd

They should all be on Wigan TV but I haven’t seen any news as yet
