Farrell testimonial squad

Post by josie andrews »

Adrian Lam has named a 23-man squad to face Leeds Rhinos for Liam Farrell’s Testimonial on Sunday 19th January.

A strong line-up will give the Head Coach a good look at his first team options ahead of the first Betfred Super League fixture of 2020 on January 30th vs Warrington Wolves at the DW Stadium (Tickets HERE).

The squad will also give fans their first chance to see the likes of Jackson Hastings, George Burgess, Mitch Clark and Jake Bibby in Cherry and White at the DW Stadium too, making this pre-season fixture not one to miss.

“It’s a pre-season that we feel we have covered really well and now we’re looking forward to playing together as a group and getting done what we have learned from pre-season.

Adrian Lam's son set to play for Wigan Warriors XIII this weekend

Adrian Lam's son is set to represent Wigan after flying over to join him in the UK.

Youngest son Bailey has graduated from high school in Australia and taken up the chance to live with his dad in Wigan.

A promising junior player, club chairman Ian Lenagan confirmed at the club's media day that he will be available to play for the academy in 2020.

And he is set to get his first opportunity in a Warriors shirt when a select XIII face London Skolars on Friday in the capital, with Lam snr confirming he is in his plans.

A more senior side will take on Leeds two days later.

"His son is over, he's 18 and obviously been in the Roosters system for a while," said Lenagan. "He's training with our academy and will probably play with them in the near-future."

Good to see a virtually full strength squad for Faz's game, would imagine Escare and Navarrete will be in the Wigan Select team to player London Skolars??

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Josie, you’re normally in the know. Any idea why Harry Smith isn’t in either of the squads for this weekend.?
I haven’t heard of him getting injured.
