Re: all time favourite teams
Picked Prescott just because of his tenure and how solid he was. Lee Mossop pre NRL could be a better shout tbh.morley pie eater wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 9:55 amGood one! I haven’t seen enough of Partington to select him in all honesty.
I think Charnley and Burgess in their prime are better than Marshall has been.
Depends whether we are picking based on their tenure as a whole at Wigan or based on a few great seasons in their prime.

Robinson played for Hunslet Parkside amateur team as a lad, possibly 14 or 15, but came through Wigan's juniors/academy.pedro wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 5:29 pmah true, wigan lost in court for newton, did Farrell not play for Widnes first team before Wigan and Charnley HKR?nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 2:28 pmNewton played for Leeds first.

Farrell and Charley were on loan iirc, probably same for Newton.

Re: all time favourite teams
No Newton signed for Leeds and Wigan when hew was at Judes, Leeds took Wigan to court and won so Newton went to Leeds then Wigan signed him from there a few years later, Robinson played for Hunslt after Parkside so was a semi pro player in the lower divisions before signing for wigan, Charnley and farrell were both Academy players but went out on loan and played first team rugby for other clubs before breaking into the Wigan first team
Re: all time favourite teams
Here's a challenge for somebody with more patience than me, How about a list of the best Cumbrians who have played for Wigan

It wasn't Wigan it was Warrington who Newton signed for as well as Leeds and Leeds took them to court to get his signature.pedro wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 10:36 am No Newton signed for Leeds and Wigan when hew was at Judes, Leeds took Wigan to court and won so Newton went to Leeds then Wigan signed him from there a few years later, Robinson played for Hunslt after Parkside so was a semi pro player in the lower divisions before signing for wigan, Charnley and farrell were both Academy players but went out on loan and played first team rugby for other clubs before breaking into the Wigan first team
