Reports: Warrington set to sign Greg Inglis
Warrington Wolves are set to sign former Australian World Cup winner Greg Inglis for the 2021 season, according to reports down under.
The Daily Telegraph and Sydney Morning Herald are both reporting that the deal has been done, and that the Wolves are due to confirm the transfer later this week.
The move would come as a shock to the rugby league world, especially after the 33-year-old confirmed his retirement from the sport mid-way through last year.
He was hampered by shoulder and knee injuries throughout the latter part of his career, and since his retirement has struggled with mental health issues, checking into rehab twice and being diagnosed with bipolar II.
He was reportedly considering a return to the sport in Australia’s lower leagues but is understood to have been in contact with ex-Bunnies teammate and current Warrington forward Jason Clark about the possibility of playing in England.
He was reportedly granted a UK work permit earlier this week, however the Wolves are yet to comment on the speculation.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I'd love to be a fly on the wall if or when anyone from the RFL/SL finally decides to have a look through the books at Wire!
Must make truly fascinating reading!

That's a box office signing if ever there was one.
Hope it works out well for Inglis and Wire.
An in form Inglis will certainly make the turnstiles click at every ground in the league.

Re: Inglis to Wire
A great story and a boost for our game. Would I have wanted Wigan to sign him? No. At 34 and with a chronic knee injury he may struggle. Nevertheless, I wish him the best.

We need an accountant like Warrington, he’s some kind of magician. They get to sign whoever they want
