Why are the premier league able to start playing and we don't even have a date yet. It's not even their season , so where are our matches?
Why's it taking so long?

Pretty obvious to me.
Rugby league far more dependent on revenue from match day so they are utilising the furlough scheme as long as possible. The longer they wait, the more likely some crowds will be able to attend games.

And the football was nearing the end of their season, there were long debates about ending the season as it was, but the massive cost to the Clubs from lack of revenue/working capital, forced the clubs to restart asap to get the TV monies from Sky/BT.
Our season had only just started, so there needed to be serious scrutiny on how the majority of the season ahead was to continue, and how it is to be shaped. In the meantime "Magic", the Summer Bash and the Tests v Australia have been cancelled. Plus RL doesn't have the finances of the Premier League to carry the necessary train-on logistics and Covid Testing measures.
This is why discussions are in progress to extend our season till Dec/Jan.
