Second chance to help Rob Burrow

Post by josie andrews » Wed Sep 16, 2020 7:21 am

Wigan Warriors are able to offer a second chance for fans to get their hands on four remaining Rob Burrow embroidered home shirts.

Due to offers being rescinded in our original auction, the jerseys issued to Oliver Gildart, Sam Powell, Zak Hardaker and Dom Manfredi have all been re-released for a new round of bidding in aid of the Rob Burrow Fund. The other 26 shirts have now all been sold.

The auctions have reopened as of Tuesday 15th September and will run through Friday 18th September between 8pm and 8:30pm. Click HERE to head straight to the auctions.

On Sunday 16th August, Wigan played Leeds Rhinos in Round 9 of the Betfred Super League and every Wigan player wore a special embroidered shirt in support of Leeds legend Rob Burrow.

All players from the Warriors first team squad chose a word to describe Burrow – who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in December 2019 – and the 17 players who featured against Leeds adorned their chosen word alongside their name on the Wigan home shirt.

The shirts that were worn by the players in the game, as well as jerseys of the first team players who were not involved in the match day squad, were all up for auction with all proceeds to be donated to the Rob Burrow Fund, which is supporting Rob in dealing with his diagnosis and raising awareness to aid research into MND.

Please note, if the winning bidder would like their shirt to be signed or to have a personalised message from the player then this can be arranged once the auction has ended and payment has been received.

Collection is welcome from our Robin Park Arena headquarters. Please check our UK and international postage costs before bidding.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage.

I noticed that in the warm up Hull players were wearing a shirt with RB7 on. Are they doing something like Wigan?
