State of Origin - selection
What is the criteria for being selected to represent QLD or NSW?
Xavier Coates is playing for QLD but was born in PNG but moved to Cairns and settled on the Gold Coast as an infant.
I think Nathan Cleary was also born in QLD but moved to NSW when he was 8 and now represents them.

Isn’t it the club where you first played?
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Yeah, it's based on the club where you made your first-grade debut.

Unsure how up to date that is as I can see 2012 on it.

No it’s not, see Nathan’s post. It is more complicated. The booze hound wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 1:29 pmYeah, it's based on the club where you made your first-grade debut.

What about the actual game? I saw lots of Aussie fans calling for Cleary's head after Game 1 ("I never rated him, he went missing", etc etc), but you could hardly criticise him after Game 2. He hardly put a foot wrong, but, to be fair, he was helped by a much stronger team performance all round than Game 1. It's a relatively poor QLD side, and when Munster went off early, I think their chances went with him. Ben Hunt is not going to win you origin.

I thought munster was tackled in the air unfairly....... i also think the fox dropped the elbow into a tackled player at least 2-3 times....... best team won though....... they have far more quality players to choose from....... be interesting to see the queensland tactics next week, especially with it being played on there own patch....... on another note, how good was the first try from queensland?moto748 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 12, 2020 1:13 pm What about the actual game? Yeah, don't disagree. The Fox has a few cheap shots in him. Fantastic player, though.
