I think you could easily count all the "ball-playing loose forwards" in the world right now comfortably on the fingers of one hand.

Other than Lockers, who is there? Jake Trbojevic? Victor Radley?

Agreed but how many were there ever at a given time? It’s not like every team used to have one.

I can’t put my finger on why it’s died out because the role of a ball playing 13 still shared the majority of abilities that a second rower playing loose did...
