Boys in Aus, Burgess & Gildart

Post by Dan2266 »

Bevan French's agent is trying to get him a NRL deal for 2022 (obviously)

1 club has contacted his agent about taking him THIS SEASON.
(told there is absolutely 0 chance of that happening)

Nothing more on Hastings, both are expected back week beginning 22nd Feb (or 21st depends if you go off Sunday/Monday

I posted a while back about Gildart "Having a 3 year deal in place with a NRL side" this is no longer the case. (assuming due to the pandemic)

George Burgess is likely to be offered a non playing role similar to the one that Hardaker had whilst he was still banned (if he recovers who knows where that will go)

I'm hoping this thread is happier than the last one.

   I get told to F off at times if I ask too much or too often.

I seen Lam talking about biding his time in the market for potential replacements, now this part is me just speculating..... you either take that as true and that the Prop we had agreed a deal with has fell through, or he is trying to throw the media off. genuinely not sure

You would have to assume the deal has fell through surely?

Given the fact we have agreed personal terms, the club are willing to sell, Burgess situation has been cleared up, why would he want/need to throw the media off? (Better still, what media?)

My thoughts exactly, and as far as I was aware, the player was told he could leave his club if he could agree a deal, so again I'm assuming no fee will of been involved.

Things can change in a instant especially during these times, I'm just glad we have decent enough squad depth at the moment that we are not left short if we don't end up signing a prop.

Fun n Games

To French is the one less settled here yet no one bats an eyelid but Hastings has bought property seems to have a long term relationship yet because he’s spending family time over in Oz he can’t be coming back.

Not saying either one will be here for ever and a day but to me it’ll be French who goes first in my opinion, which will be a shame as he’s a hell of a player but we shall see

With less than two months to go before the start of the season letting perhaps your most mercurial player leave would lead to a riot. You have to ask what planet some of the team representatives are from if they think that it is likely, unless of course they have already been unsettling the player.

Leeds never had issues with this during their hey day! I was listening to Hastings Behind the Athlete podcast and Hardaker said Leeds used to sign up all their current/future stars to 5 year deals. We don't really seem to do that and are more than happy to sell players for transfer fees. Given the personal money Lenegan has to invest in the club, cannot argue against it maybe, just an observation.
