George is a good player but I'm not sure he's what Wigan need at the moment. Wigan need to get the basics right before they invest in a "luxury" player imo.

What this whole saga confirms is my assertion all along is true:

1. A contract in professional sport really does mean nothing
2. As does "first refusal" which Wigan in particular keep trotting out.

I won't be too upset if he signs for Warrington.

Just relax and let it run it’s course - do we know if the release from contract is signed or if Canberra are back tracking due to squad or union issues or even after their instant reaction now trying to lever a fee from someone... we don’t know if he will end up at Wigan or wire - would love to see him back in cherry n white but let’s leave it be and see where he ends up.

We will *need* a half in 2022 I reckon, but not really right now. Now French is out though, we can probably fit him in somewhere with Hastings at 9.

No one can announce anything while he is still a Canberra player. George cant sign for 2022 if he is still a Canberra player, because his contract ran until 2023.

I personally don't think he will go back on his word.

It will all unfold this next week or so I would imagine.

Indeed it has its always the case it’s be nice to think players went to bed in their Wigan warriors pj’s each night and would be happy to turn out for a satsuma and a drink of water but that’s not realistic

Whilst I completely agree that money talks, there is more than one way to look at it.

Success also translates into money in the medium to long term. Unless you believe the "year of the wolfs" is going to happen soon, maybe a different team holds more of an attraction?

If George saw that debacle on Saturday he won't want to come back to Wigan.

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.
