Leeds Rhinos have confirmed that Luke Gale has been stood down as captain.
The Leeds club issued a statement this afternoon, saying that Gale would no longer be captain after using behaviours not aligned to team trademarks.
Gale will be available for selection for Thursday’s Betfred Super League clash at Hull FC and the club now see this matter as closed.
The England international commented, “I would like to apologise to everyone connected to the club for my behaviour, which fell below the standards expected of our team. I will be making sure I give my absolute best every day to help the team achieve our goal this season.”

Luke Gale STRIPPED of captaincy
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

What's gone on?
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.
