Who do Wigan (and Liverpool!) think they are kidding when they do this?
1. Happy clappers.
2. Stupid people.
But we're happy and stupid anyway, so we don't need managing. It's the cynics on the clubs back that they are trying to placate. But they'll never be happy anyway.

They think the cynics on the clubs back would be placated by this? Spectacular misjudgment if so.

Beat me to it.

Placate the cynics by giving them something to be cynical about? Genius move by them.

What do you want to know Meds, I know a couple who went and even though they were told not to repeat to much, have answered most questions.

Let's be honest there is a small group who will not be happy either way.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

You’re not wrong there!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Exactly. Not announcing Thornley has led to indignation level 10 amongst the cynics. However, if they *had* announced Thornley though. Indignation level 11! So it's a win for the club. 😀

BTW I think some operate at indignation level 9 as a default.
