As for coaching, isn't he exactly what we are missing? An experiemced half to specialise on attack in training. Didn't Deacon and or Harris have a similar role?

Not sure exactly what role Briers has had at Wire, for me though, he'll surely have a great impact on Smith and other youthful halves we develop and I'm presuming he's been coaching at Wire for a few years now, so will bring experience too of coaching.

Could be the perfect time for him to join the coaching team for next year. In addition, wasn't too bad at taking a shot at goal back in the day......also what we need!
Whilst the hope is he could deliver what Harris and Deacon did.

I hate the notion that Briers will help
smith. We have Lam, Tommy and Hastings in the team, you would think those players could help Smith.
What I think interesting is people are interested in Briers. If we apply the same logic used against assistant coaches at Wigan, then wire have been pretty mediocre to watch the last few seasons, their attack hasn't been great. Surely that's partially down to Briers
Funnily enough I do think Wire have been much better this season Widdop helps I suppose as well as the signing of “he who must not be named”,a lot of Warrington woes is I feel down to Price he has them playing dare I say it in a very Australian way of playing.

Briers played behind a beaten pack until they signed Morley. He controlled their game and his end of sets play was as good as anyone's I've ever seen.
His game management knowledge and ability should suit us fine and if he can coach and improve anything in this Wigan squad it's how to end our sets better.
I'd be more than happy with Briers arriving as asst coach.

Pointless bringing him in if the other coaching roles are filled by the job for the boys brigade

Lockers was a brilliant loose forward able to fill in other areas. Hasn't helped our pack improve.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Talking rubbish.

So you’re saying it’s pointless bringing in an attack coach because of jobs for the boys brigade? That doesn’t make sense at all.

I get it’s an issue and one that has coincided with a downturn in quality and success but it would have an impact, the extent is tbc.

There aren’t many grumbles about our defence and that’s headed up by John Winder. There are also comments about our defence getting worse when he left for Sale and then improving when he returned.
Do you want Winder to leave also?

You're confusing Matty Peet with Winder.

Ahh right, so Pete is defence coach and Winder attack?

Point still stands though, to say its pointless bringing Briers in is garbage.

Winder should leave as hes failing and to bring in Briers instead of him might work
