Re: Flanagan
That’s not a bad swap, but isn’t he a halfback too?
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Flanagan
Not sure how it would work in terms of squad line up. Field to FB, Flanagan and Cust in the halves maybe?

Two Super League clubs linked with move for NRL halfback Kyle Flanagan
Two Super League clubs have been linked with a move for outcast NRL halfback Kyle Flanagan.
That’s according to CKM Red Rugby League which has claimed that both Wigan Warriors and St Helens are rumoured targets for the Canterbury Bulldogs playmaker.
The 23-year-old halfback has been on the receiving end of loaded criticism in his first season in Belmore after failing to play a key role for Trent Barrett’s Canterbury Bulldogs.
Flanagan even found himself in the reserves, despite his hefty wage – and has since been linked to a move to the UK.
Apparently Flanagan’s contract is heavily back-loaded and he’ll be earning $500,000 in 2023, according to the Daily Telegraph, which could mean Super League sides come into the picture.
He was offered to UK top flight sides back in the summer after playing the opening nine games of the 2021 campaign before being substituted by coach Barrett during a defeat to St George Illawarra Dragons
Flanagan was subsequently dropped for the next six games before being recalled, but was soon forced out of the side once more as the Bulldogs finished bottom of the NRL after winning just four games all year.
The 23-year-old has made almost 50 appearances in rugby league’s most impressive competition, having played a key role in the Sydney Roosters’ 2020 season.
However, it is thought that Canterbury are willing to pay a portion of Flanagan’s wage just to get him off their books as Phil Gould continues his rebuilding of the Bulldogs.

Re: Flanagan
Flanagan would take French's overseas quota spot. We also have a marquee place still available.
Feel sorry for French, if Flanagan is willing to sign perhaps French would be happy to stay in Australia with his family.
How it would affect the balance sheet is anyone's guess.

Re: Flanagan
Interesting... I've heard nothing since the last time I mentioned Flanagan, talks had been held and they were positive initially, Wigan or Catalans just never followed up the interest. Should be a easy deal to do as well
