I've bought a student tickets and I'm at uni- worth taking the risk as it saves over £5 and if youve got an NUS card then you can prove you are a student. If they wont accept it just threaten to start a student protest about discrimination against students and they'll give in lol!
I've only ever been asked once for ID at Wigan to prove im a student.
