Warrington Wolves reportedly interested in Wakefield Trinity star

Post by josie andrews »

Warrington Wolves and Wakefield Trinity were involved in a rip-roaring, highly-entertaining fixture in the Challenge Cup Sixth Round.

Warrington started like a house on fire, racing into a 12-0 lead before Wakefield replied with 16 unanswered points to take the ascendancy on the hour mark.

However, after great work by Kelepi Tanginoa in the build-up to Wakefield’s third try, Premier Sports commentator Mark Wilson revealed that the Wolves have been interested in signing the South Sea Islander.

Tanginoa signed a new deal at Belle Vue in November 2020 and said at the time: “I’m really happy to be here for years to come.

It is really exciting for me and my family and gives us some stability for the next couple of years as I look to build on my 18 months here.”

He added: “I’ve built such a good relationship with my team-mates.

“When I first joined this club, I instantly felt like I just belonged here and felt completely at home.

I get along with all the players here and can’t wait to spend these next four years with them.

“I’ll just continue to do what I’ve been doing and that’s playing my best for the team each week.

“That’s my goal moving forward, to perform each week.”

Tanginoa has been a consistent performer for Trinity in recent seasons and was vital yet again in Wakefield’s stellar performance against Warrington in the Challenge Cup Sixth Round.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
