Smithies out for 4 matches; 2 per high tackle.
Yates also got 2 for the high shot on Faz.

Re: disciplinary
Finally watched the game back Smithees a couple of months ago would have seen red for either of those tackles so no surprise he collared a ban for both of them, hope that aspect of his game isn’t creeping back.
Bloody good job Powell is back wherever he plays

Re: disciplinary
Think it’s a bit harsh! Watson & his continual moaning about it!
So will Child get reprimanded & banned for a few games for not punishing them during the game??

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: disciplinary
I think the second one was as a result of his desperation to affect the tackle. Regarding his first transgression and also Yates, let’s see how many get a ban for something similar this weekend.fozzieskem wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 1:59 pm Finally watched the game back Smithees a couple of months ago would have seen red for either of those tackles so no surprise he collared a ban for both of them, hope that aspect of his game isn’t creeping back.

And that’s the issue they start out at the begging of the season with a rod of iron then soften, the second one was grubby, desperate yes but even so his arm came in high it’s something he’d stopped since the last long ban and has become a better player…hasn’t he said himself he expected to see red?Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 2:05 pmI think the second one was as a result of his desperation to affect the tackle. Yates got 2 games didn’t he?
I’ll say again Childs kept the game moving did he get everything right? Mostly I’d say.
Re: disciplinary
that seems right, Smithies was lucky not to get a card for the second one, and the yates one never happened according to most fans, as its sneaky and only really visable on one camera angle
the ref got it right, otherwise the headlines would have been 3 sin binned in final

There are 10 types of people, those who get binary and those who dont!

File under 'Getting Their Own Back.'
Perhaps the club should apologise, return the trophy and promise that this result it will never happen again. The RFL should now award the trophy to St Helens and the Lance Todd to The Blessed Welsby
Everyone knows what a really bad high shot is and Smithies (although he has been guilty in the past) was not guilty this time. One was a reach round (Huddersfield fans booed a bit and only went potty after several replays on the big screen) and the other hardly rated a boo at the time.
I want foul play to be eliminated from the game but the semi-final had appalling high and late shots with nothing much being done about it and this is way over the top by the disciplinary.
Child should also be banned if these tackles are viewed as so serious because he either missed them or did nothing major about them.
And as Mrs SS said as walked away after the match "Glad it wasn't a dirty match, it would have spoiled the day."
Special congratulations to the panel for citing Mago. They must have been the only people watching who saw him make a tackle.
