Anyone think the Wildcats years in SL are coming to an end? Reads doom and gloom on their forum, some very anxious fans looking at their remaining fixtures.

Relegation is a stupid system for rugby league anyway and the people who suggested it need shooting.

If Wakefield drop down they will lose fans who will not come back even if they got back up.

Should be licences again but actually hold the clubs to the criteria instead of letting them off the hook.

I’ve said this for years! But the people running our sport are spineless morons. They let Wakefield, Castleford & Bradford get away with substandard grounds & facilities & they are still substandard grounds & facilities

Toulouse have Salford visiting and after today's result a home win is by no means guaranteed.
Still all to play for at the bottom.

As for the structure, 14 teams who would have to provide facilities in the three years licence term. Fourteen teams, 13 games home, 13 game away plus Magic. No loop games. With Leigh we'd certainly have to open the North Stand, wouldn't surprise me if it was the same for Fev.

It seems like a neat idea, Ted. But I suggest that there may be other considerations.

We currently have 12 teams. Anyone could pick 20 or 30 players from the rosters of the likes of Wakey, Hull KR, Toulouse, Salford, and any team not in the top 4, who Wigan wouldn't touch with a bargepole. And a fair percentage of SL players are Islanders and other NRL rejects or has-beens. The quality is not great outside the top 4.

Now pray tell me where these 2 extra teams are going to get their players from?
And how will they pay them when the cap is reduced, as TV income will fall by over 14% due to being shared between 14 teams rather than 12?

Oh, and Featherstone's population is 15,244.

If they new theynhad a criteria to meet and continued to avoid doing so then yes as that's very different to relegation.

While it's easy to point at the teams lower down imagine the damage Wigan being relegated would do to the club.
