Liam Marshall: I’ve never wanted the NRL, I’m too happy at Wigan
Wigan winger Liam Marshall has told Love Rugby League that he never sees himself playing for any other club and has never even contemplated moving to the NRL.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Liam has played really well this season and it's great that he's happy at the club. If more players had this attitude, building a title winning squad would be a lot easier. Let's be honest though, was there ever a queue of NRL clubs trying to sign him?

Think you’re being a bit harsh there!! How do you know there hasn’t been?southportcdm wrote: ↑Mon Aug 15, 2022 10:09 am Liam has played really well this season and it's great that he's happy at the club. If he has made it clear to his agent, who would be the first place of call of an offer from another club, SL or NRL, that he isn’t interested in any other club but Wigan, there would not be any news forthcoming.
O’Loughlin was pestered for years by the NRL, but we weren’t always made aware of it. He wasn’t interested either.
Some players are naturally home-birds

I did think twice about the post Josie (felt a bit guilty) but thought it may create a bit of a discussion. Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased we have him. He's one of those players who really seems to enjoy playing.

Well done, Liam! I admire people who are happy going their own way in life.
In the 80s, thanks to 2 or 3 redundancies, I decided to retrain for a different career. Two uncles congratulated me, but added "you should have done this years ago". It still annoys me immensely, and they're both dead.
Now in my 70s, I look back on my life and am happy with what I did - before and after the big change. The moral is that the obvious advice from others "You should do this . . ." is often wrong for you. We're all individuals.

Good player, very quick but don't think he would get interest from down under. Too short for me and too small. If burgess and Hall struggled I don't think NRL would knock for Marshall. Good news for us though, one hell of a finisher

Agreed. If Marshy is happy to stay here long-term, that's good news for us, and left-wing won't be a position we'll have to worry about for a while.
