Love these types of games, I’ll be keeping an eye on all those with a first team number particularly Nsemba and Hill.

Keith Mason's dad, also Keith Mason was a prop for Dewsbury around the early 80s. A Dewsbury Moor product, at some point he also played for Hunslet and possibly Halifax. I worked with him for 2 or 3 years around 80-82, probably the time young Keith was born.

A genuine and great bloke, laugh a minute. You'd have him on your side any day of the week. His nickname was "Bungalow" - go figure!

I guess that young Keith had his head turned a bit by the film star stuff - but which of us would turn it down if we had the chance of some legitimate easy money, and possibly a bit of fame. Similarly writing stuff for the press - no doubt it's a nice little earner, and someone does the actual writing for him.

If Grandad is anything to go by, my guess is that Lukas will be a grafter and a team player - don't judge him by the public image of his Dad.

Looking forward to this. Can’t wait to see what Duffy can do. Absolute steal by Wigan getting him on the coaching staff

Half time
Whitehaven 8 Wigan 0

Whitehaven have had the better territory and they are defending well, keeping Wigan mostly in their own half. Whitehaven seem to be benefiting from playing last week were as Wigan are understandably a bit clumsy and clunky. It’s enjoyable to watch and Whitehaven are playing well.

Whitehaven tries were scored by Taylor ( 2 mins ) and Freeman ( 33 mins), both out wide.

8-0 to Whitehaven at half time. Making a lot of metres they are. If the lads can smarten up at the other end they can easily get back in to this. Nsembe has taken a few good carries up but needs to quicken up the tempo of his pass
Eckersley is looking good
Hill and Silva have put some big hits in and carried the ball well
Douglas has been solid enough.
Can’t think of the other lads but all have been doing well for the circumstances.
Hopefully a big 2nd half in store
