My stand out players Astley ,Forber and Hill.
Was that Singletons brother playing for Haven thought we had transferred him at first 22-14 final score.

Enjoyed that. Wigan sharpened up well in the second half and scored some good tries. Can't argue with Astley, Hill, and the always impressive Forber as the top performers.

Good open game and a credit to both teams.

We almost lost the game by not playing the conditions or opposition for the first 40 but luckily went in just 8-0 down.

2nd half was much better and we saw the best of Harvey Hill, Beardsworth, Wilson and Forber. Astley kicked really well all game and poached a couple of tries, so job done. Nsemba looked good without really breaking free. The outside backs took the ball up well all game.

Saw the 2nd half.
Good tries scored with Hill, Astley and Beardsworth looked impressive too.
Don't know who the commentary team were but they were saying that there a speedsters in the squad and come the dry pitches the team should do well.

A very good advert for summer rugby!

Also liked the commentators saying "open all your windows and doors to get the true game effect at home"!

We are in a good place, some of those lads could turn out for the Academy this season. What was impressive is that we beat an experienced Haven side on their own ground who had the benefit of playing the week before.

It was a really strong performance against a Championship side. The first half was a bit of a grind and it looked like Haven would be too strong for us unless things opened up and we could get the left edge into the game more.

Harvie Hill was outstanding and must be pushing for an opportunity when the first team start to play. Logan Astley was also very strong, particularly in the second half. Looks like a really skilful player. Forber also one of the top 3. Real pace around the play the ball and I thought that's where we had an edge over Whitehaven as they were a bit sluggish at times despite having some size down the middle.

Hill made a difference down the middle but I was also impressed with Ellis Hobson. Playing against men for the first time I would imagine and he didn't look out of place.

Of the outside backs, you could see why Eckersley is so highly regarded by the coaching staff. Got a bit of size to him, he's quick, has great hands. He was really threatening on the left edge with Jacob Douglas who looks to have great pace. Sumner was solid at fullback.
