So if it goes tits up and they end up cancelling the contract do Wigan still get to keep the transfer fee?

yep, the delay is nowt to do with us
Bateman stalled for seemingly months, when everyone knew he was on his way to the NRL. they have signed him, and if he / someone connected to him, cant get a visa, not our problem
No doubt they will try and come back to us and say we aint got a player, but thats not our fault

No idea about the legality or all of that side but the way I see it, they paid for us to release him from his contract and we have kept to our end.

I very much doubt whether that would be an option for them.medlocke wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 7:34 pmYeah that's what I was thinking, but just had a feeling that try taking the mickey likeBlackpool_Pie wrote: ↑Mon Feb 06, 2023 6:59 pm No idea about the legality or all of that side but the way I see it, they paid for us to release him from his contract and we have kept to our end.
Even Wigan aren't that naïve (Shaun Edwards anyone?).

Don’t know how true this is but I got told yesterday that Smithies had given Bateman a good hiding during a night out ? apparently Bateman was goading him all night and Smithies cracked and lamped him .

Nope!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
