Another Wigan duo head to Championship on loan

Post by josie andrews »

Wigan winger Jack Douglas and forward Junior Nsemba have joined Championship side Whitehaven on a month’s loan.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

All this loanining out tells me we must be bringing another player in surely?

It tells me these are first team fringe players and this is a ideal way to give the regular game time to keep them ready if needed the short terms is a good pointer imo.

I doubt it. It's a month until the reserves have their first fixture so why not send several players on a months loan rather than have them kicking their heels. We did the same thing last year, possibly at the start of the year but definitely mid-season when there was a break in the reserves fixtures.

Also, most of these players loaned out won't be counted on the salary cap, so there's no need to free up any money.

We have about £200k free cap space from Bateman leaving.

There’s nobody to sign though.

These loans are just for game time

Wasn’t he marquee? So Bateman leaving should free up £150k?
