Joe Shorrocks back with Wigan Warriors following Leigh Leopards loan spell
Joe Shorrocks has returned to Wigan Warriors following his loan spell with Leigh Leopards.
The 23-year-old is back training at Robin Park Arena, after spending the last few weeks with Adrian Lam’s side.
Shorrocks featured four times during his stint with the Leopards, and went over for a try in their victory over St Helens earlier this month.
Ahead of this week’s game between Wigan and Leigh, Matty Peet said: “He’s back with Wigan.
"I guess we’ll find out tomorrow if he’s in the 21 or not.”
Our squad will be similar, we’ve been quite fortunate recently, so there won’t be too many changes.”
The Leopards have made solid start to life back in Super League, winning three of their six games.
Meanwhile, Wigan have four victories under their belt so far this season.
Ahead of Thursday’s game at Leigh Sports Village (K.O. 8pm), there will be some off-field entertainment with local band the Lottery Winners performing live.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Let’s hope he gets a run in the side

He is worth a place.
I have supported Wigan RL since the late 80s. First game was a cup tie v Barrow. Also a fan of football and Speedway. Have a varied taste in music.

I doubt he'll make the team, he was out on loan due to a lack of opportunities and there haven't been any major injuries since he's been away. There has been signs of a re-think in how we're playing though, so maybe that increases the value of his skill set, I'm not sure that it does though.
I'd expect another loan period maybe back a Leigh after this week if that worked well.

Majority on this forum said he wasn’t good enough last year and now Smithies has become the latest whipping boy Shorrocks deserves a place?

I’d have him at 13 with Farrell and Isa second row smithies on bench

He's probably been brought back so Lam can't select him to play against us.
I never understood why a club would allow one of its player to play against the club. Against the rules in soccer, should be in RL too.
As to whether he'll play, we looked clueless for 60 mins against Salford. With Shorrocks having a good skill set then maybe Peet will select him. He's been starting at Leigh so who knows. Should be in the 21 but as for the 17 we'll have to wait and see.
