34 years….

Post by josie andrews »

…today since we beat St Helens at Wembley in the Challenge Cup Final 😊 🏉🍒⚪️❤️
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

This sounds like a joke made by Andy Gregory at a sportsman's dinner in St Helens when he gave Ccupfinal score only for a Saints fan to interject and say it was 27-0 not 28-0 or whatever to a roar of laughter 🙄

Jesus didnt realise it was that long ago.Great memories especially hanleys try and hampsons joy at scoring( im sure this was set up as he was on the wing when he scored). Also was good to see saints fans leaving the ground with 30 odd minutes left lol

It was the only final that I missed watching in person. I watched the game with my mate, a Saints fan, on forces TV in Germany. Free ale for me after the game, so a double win 😀

I remember a game at Knowsley Road not long after where the chant was "27-0" to the tune of "Ilkley Moor"
