I don’t think the council will allow planning to have two stadiums side by side especially in a town. Possibly building extra stands to play our games there for when the ground is relayed would make sense.

Is it? Not what I read before the Huddersfield game.

We are now entering the second half of the season
starting tomorrow with our home fixture with
Huddersfield Giants and this is followed oy six more
home games in the second half of the season before
we are hopefully part of this years Play Off's.
We are also in the semi final of the Betfred Challenge
Cup when we play Hull KR and our Women's team
take on Leeds Rhinos at Headingly in a double header
on July 23'd. There is hospitality available for that
day and a leaflet is attached
Below are the options for the remaining 2023 games at
the DW Stadium that, since Mike Danson's purchase
of Wigan Athletic and the stadium is now in joint
ownership with Wigan Warriors for the first time.

As others have pointed out I think Rads will be moved on, or more likely "over".

There is probably a role for him at the club, it's just not CEO.

Danson owns the ground.
But as I said it’s a football asset not a rugby one. So unless he changes that we still don’t own it.

That email also got retracted very quickly. It may change as I stated in another comment just but it is as it always has been a football and council owned stadium far as I’m aware. (We may own a tiny bit)

It was because Mike Danson had not concluded his deal with IFL to buy the Warriors.

I hope you are right but as it was an asset of the football club it’s not automatically now 50% owned by the Warriors. That is obviously not how companies work. Just because Danson bought the Warriors off IL and we play at the DW doesn’t mean we now automatically become 50% owners.

If we are then Latics just lost half of what appears as a huge asset on their balance sheet. I am not convinced it’s as simple as some are making out.

Did the old owners get 100% of the stadium after admin sure that was mentioned so not sure if the council lost the 12%, rugby don't own any of it at this point legally and that's why the email was retracted. What was in it though has been discussed. The football club was bought with the stadium for a pound and
the stadium needs quite a bit spending on it, I heard the last owners couldn't afford to pay the company who assess what's needed never mind the work. Again now that's of little concern apparently. I don't think at this point it's an asset and as owner of both to make it one, things will need to change.
Mr Danson buying the club was agreed months ago the rugby club was concerned with the relationship with the past football owners, as Mr Lenegan mentioned they had several options on the table of what they may have to do, obviously the plans changed with the football club needing money and finally going bump again. The ownership announcement was delayed but it had already been made aware to some what was coming quite a while ago.
The talk of a sporting club which would umbrella both teams is maybe what we will see, IL in his statement the other day says now our place to play is secured and I imagine however this is finally set up any loopholes that leave us vulnerable will be legally closed. Football clubs don't need to own a stadium, they just need a legal agreement re home fixtures for the given season being guaranteed as precedence, so that a fixture does not need to be cancelled.
As owner of the whole lot any change of ownership will just be legal documents to be signed and transferred monies from one pocket to another. Mr Dansons legal advisor was put onto the rugby board a couple of months back and others removed looking at Companies House which verified what was happening last time I looked he's also the only official on the footballs board.
All that I was told as happened to this point and it was all positive for us, it's also positive for the football they may not get big money signings but they won't be getting into 45 million debt in two years. They also won't be wondering if they will exist season to season.
Interesting to see how it plays out.

I am not sure I follow the distinction people are making.
Our owner owns the ground. That was not the case before.
When Saints say they own their ground they mean that their owners own the ground.
We now own our own ground.
People are drawing some distinctions around whether it is a Latics asset, but they are, in my opinion, entirely spurious.
As far as the rights and duties of the rugby and football clubs are concerned, they are all Danson’s to do with whatever he likes. He decides who plays, and when, he keeps all of the revenue, he decides how to deck out the ground and what to call it.
Our position is clearly vastly improved.
