The match officials for the Challenge Cup Final have been confirmed.
Both Hull KR and Leigh Leopards are likely to be satisfied with the appointment of referee Chris Kendall for the Challenge Cup Final. The 31-year-old has been given the nod to take the whistle at Wembley in what is his latest major final in charge.
He will be assisted by Liam Moore, who takes on the role of video referee, with Richard Thompson and Jonny Roberts the touch judges. Marcus Griffiths the reserve referee, and Liam Rush the reserve touch judge. David Milburn will be the Match Commissioner, and Peter Taberner the timekeeper.
Kendall hasn't had much to do with either of the two teams this year, but when he has, both teams have positive records to boast. For the Robins, Kendall has taken control of six games so far this season and they have won four of them. He was at the helm for the opening round victory over Wigan Warriors, the 28-0 victory over Huddersfield Giants and more recently, Craven Park triumphs over Wakefield Trinity and Castleford Tigers. The two games they lost were away at Catalans Dragons earlier in the year and the Magic Weekend defeat to Salford Red Devils.
But it's good news for Leigh too. Kendall has only been in charge of two games for them this season but they have won both of them. He officiated their round 13 victory over Warrington Wolves and also the Challenge Cup semi-final victory over St Helens. He was also the man in the middle for the last major final, which was the Million Pound game victory over Batley Bulldogs. They will perhaps see that as a lucky omen.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
