Maybe a Protest

I think that everyone at the club is well aware of what the fans think. The constant booing at matches is a pretty strong hint. Plus ex-players are now voicing their discontent at the situation.

Millward, whatever he may say to the press, knows that the situation cannot continue and is feeling the pressure. If we lose both games to the wildcats, conceed a three figure score against stains or hit the bottom of the table then he knows that he won't survive much longer and his career will probably be in ruins. It's one thing to be fired for abusive language or chasing cheerleaders - however it is another thing entirely to take a team that were predicted to finish 4th in the table and get them relegated.

His contract with Wigan is a big one - if he is fired he will not get another one like it anytime soon and whilst he may not end up driving a taxi - his options will be severely limited. It is very unlikley that his contract will be paid up if they fire him - as the club could claim gross negligence (and on the back of our results - what court in the land would disagree).

Whilst a protest would be theraputic for the fans; I don't really think that it would make any real difference - unless it involved staying away from games. DW is a business man and the only way to hurt him is by hitting his pocket - however I can't see Wigan fans staying away - it just won't happen

And even then, the club had my season ticket money months ago. If I and the other 7000 or howevermany season ticket holders don't go to games they're hardly even going to notice the drop in finances.

A protest would be a matter of principle. It's not about money or hurting them in the pocket; it's about getting our feelings across !!!!!!!!!!!

I seem to recall the Police Vs Latics situation. Now that was about money. The Latics fans reacted by preparing to organise a peaceful protest to blockade Wigan police station and Wigan town centre. The result: the police withdrew their threat and a compromise was reached. My point is, at least those Blue slobs did something. Are we going to be outdone by sissy football fans ?

Why do you think it was a poor turnout at Cas? If anything, I'd say we took a few hundred more than usual. The ground was almost full, big queues at all turnstiles to get in, even after kick-off (I know because I missed our first try because of it). I could hardly get into the terrace at the Wigan end when I finally got into the ground.

I didn't go, but I think a 9000 attendance speaks for itself - it's 3000 more than were there when we last played there in 2004 and I doubt they were all Castleford fans.

I see that the Latics men are organising to PROTEST on Saturday, against little Mo joining the board. I say, every credit; that's passion !

We couldn't organise a children's tea party.

if we were as smart as we think we are one of us would have millwards job, and after 30 years Iam not going to turn my back on the greatest club the world has ever seen. the proposed protest would only hurt the fans, wheelan already has your money

i don,t think a protest would serve any purpose, i still think we,ll turn this round. we,re beating ourselves at the moment but a win would start to bring back a bit of confidence and thats what we,re missing most. i must admit the injuries are very worrying but it gives us the chance to bring in some hungry youngsters
