Leigh Leopards land their own footwear brand in unique sportswear deal

Post by josie andrews »

The Challenge Cup holders haven't looked back since their relaunch.

Leigh Leopards have entered the fashion market after a pair of trainers based on the club was launched. The Challenge Cup holders, who enjoyed a stunning return to Super League this year, have seen their Leopards rebrand take rugby league by storm, so much so that their logo now takes pride of place on footwear.

The footwear has been released by the club's new kit partner, Patrick, one of sport's most historic brands. Patrick has been a prominent brand for decades and has recently ventured into rugby league, teaming up with Leigh and Championship club, Swinton Lions. But in a new move, the brand has unveiled a new leopard print shoe featuring the Leigh logo on the tongue of the shoe. Featuring a red insole, the shoe is predominantly grey with the logo in gold.

Patrick released a video on X, formerly known as Twitter, showing off the design, which is now available to buy in Leigh's retail store. It is the latest piece of eye-catching merchandise featuring the Leopards ever since their high-profile rebrand last year. Last year's jersey was dominated by a leopard's face, with a bright blue leopard print number as their away strip. Their 2024 home kit is predominantly red, continuing the striking attire they will wear.

Leigh returned to Super League last year and made an immediate impression, winning the Challenge Cup and finishing fifth in Super League. Their new signings for next season include the likes of Australia international, Matt Moylan.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Could be wrong, but seem to remember us having Patrick on our shirts back in the Whelan era?
