Warriors Wheelchair progress to Cup Semi Finals
* Match Report as Wigan Warriors Wheelchair beat Halifax Panthers to book Challenge Cup Semi Final spot.
* Warriors scored twelve tries in a relentless display at Robin Park Leisure Centre.

WIGAN WARRIORS HOSTED HALIFAX PANTHERS IN THE BETFRED WHEELCHAIR CHALLENGE CUP QUARTER FINAL ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
It was the Away side that struck first, with Rob Hawkins evading a tackle close to the line within the opening two minutes, however, he was unable to convert his own try.
Now settled in to the game, Wigan hit back when Adam Rigby crossed for his first try of the afternoon. Increasing the lead further, the next try was a family affair with Dec Roberts passing on to dad Phil, who then supplied other son Nathan with the opportunity to score in the left corner. Adding the extras for both tries, Dec put his side in front at 12-4.
Having seen their opponents score back to back converted tries, Halifax were now to do the same. Hawkins doubled his tally after some electric pace down the right flank, before Wayne Boardman was able to reach out and regain the lead.
Some excellent work by player/coach Chris Greenhalgh put Wigan on the front foot. His ball carry earning huge metres to begin with, but as the Panthers defence were unable to get close to his tag he was then able to release Rigby to score his second.
Taking control of the half, Dec Roberts was the next to score, a weaving run taking him across to the line, with this followed up by Phil Roberts rolling over for an easy try. After the conversions, the score was now 30-16 to Wigan.
Joseph Colcott scored down the right as Halifax were keeping themselves in the game. But, with the Warriors also firing on all cylinders, they were able to score again before the turnaround, D.Roberts becoming the third player to register a brace of tries. Showing why he is possibly the best kicker in the game, Dec also made it 6 from 6 from the tee for a 36-22 half time scoreline.
After coming off the bench in the first half to replace Greenhalgh, Martin Lane was the next player in Cherry & White to score. With the defence sitting back on their own line, Lane was able to place the ball down and start a strong period for his side.
Crashing over for another try, Dec Roberts made it three for his personal tally. Before the crowd even got time to appreciate it, he was now onto number 4. The fourth saw Dec get around the last defender, but he was then given enough time to improve the angle and put the ball down closer to the posts. With that, he was successful with both kicks for a 54-22 lead.
The Panthers did have a few highlights in the second period. Hawkins showing his pace with a hat-trick try from his own half, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Wigan juggernaut.
With 4 to his name already, Dec now made it 5 after a try assist from dad Phil. Evading the tacklers, Phil was able to loop the ball over the last defender and put Dec in the clear. Unfortunately, having been perfect all afternoon, Dec finally missed a kick from the tee at the tenth attempt.
Not to be outdone by his England teammates, Rigby was the next to cross for his hat-trick, after he was neatly put through a gap. Hawkins went one further with his fourth, but Rigby again wasn’t having any of it. A delicate short pass from Dec putting Rigby in for the final try of the game. Adding two further conversions, Dec made it 11 successful kicks from 12 attempts to seal a comprehensive 70-32 victory.
Wigan Warriors will now face Leeds Rhinos in the Semi Final, with a date TBC.
