Following his side’s victory over Castleford Tigers, Paul Rowley has made it clear that he will not be heading to Leeds Rhinos for the 2025 season with a definitive statement.
Salford Red Devils had managed to see off in-form Castleford Tigers with a 30-22 victory at the Salford Stadium but talk turned to Rowley’s future in the post-match analysis, something that has been a hot topic ever since the arrival of Ian Blease at Leeds Rhinos.
Blease’s arrival at Headingley sparked talk that Rowley would quickly follow his Sporting Director and that talk only heightened when Rohan Smith left the club just weeks later, however, the Salford boss has always been clear in his stance that he’s loyal to Salford
Another man who has shown loyalty to Salford is assistant coach Krisnan Inu who signed a five-year deal and having been asked about that, Rowley was also asked on the “latest” with his situation given the links to Leeds Rhinos.
That was batted back firmly by the Salford boss as he answered: “There’s no latest. I’m more happy for Kris. I’ve got this year and next and I’m absolutely committed.”
It had been reported that Rowley had said no to Leeds Rhinos with rugbyleaguehub.com breaking that news yesterday.

Speaking to the press post-game, Rowley would then double down on his commitment as he took aim at those who do not see out their contracts, clarifying that he was more than happy to honour his for the remainder of 2024 and the 2025 season.
He said: “I don’t think we see enough in the game where people sign contracts and are happy to honour that contract and that’s exactly where I’m at. I come to work every day with a smile, absolutely.
“I love the players, I love the staff, I love the club, I love the fans. I’ve got no dramas there, so my future, unless Salford sell me, is very much with this group.”
Further clarifying that his deal is until the end of 2025, he simply stated: “That’s my contract, so that’s what it says on the paper.”
Despite his firm stance, it’s doubtful that speculation will stop until Leeds Rhinos confirm a boss of their own for the 2025 season with Brad Arthur only confirmed until the end of the current season.
Salford will take on the Rhinos this week in a huge crunch game that could effectively end Leeds’ playoff hopes.
The talk regarding Rowley’s future had come off the back of his reaction to the news that Krisnan Inu had secured a new deal with the former Red Devils player inking a five-year contract, announced on Friday.
Speaking about his assistant, Rowley stated: “Krisnan came back to this club as a crowd favourite and stepping out of playing into coaching, I think it was quickly evident that he’s got some skills and skill sets that that others don’t have. He’s quite special and unique in that way.
“I’m sure he could still be playing, he was an absolute world-class rugby league player and playing the games that he’s played with the players he’s played with and the coaches he’s played for, you retain a lot of knowledge, stuff that I could not have coached.”
Speaking further on the length of the deal, Rowley explained what it would mean for Inu and ultimately what it would mean for the club’s future with the 37-year-old tied down until the end of the 2029 season.
"He’s valuable there and what I think people don’t realise with overseas players and coaches is that it enables them to get some security and get mortgages and stuff like that.
“Hopefully now he can settle down and focus on his future.”

Paul Rowley makes definitive statement on his future amidst Leeds Rhinos links
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

There's been umpteen rumours about his going to Leeds for 2025 is a done deal, especially around Leeds.
Maybe not!

The key phrase is " unless Salford sell me"
