Abbas Miski update as Wigan Warriors coach provides early squad news ahead of Leigh Leopards showdown

Post by josie andrews »

Wigan Warriors coach Matt Peet has confirmed winger Abbas Miski will return for Saturday’s Super League semi-final showdown against Leigh Leopards.

Lebanon international Miski wasn’t risked in Wigan’s last game against Salford a fortnight ago, with the Warriors running out 64-0 winners against a well-rotated Red Devils side.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Would we be weaker /stronger with him back? Both have advantages and disadvantages

Stronger with him.

His meters in our own 30m will be invaluable in a semi and hopefully final.

On average they’re low scoring games rather than open, so it will suit Miski more.

Yep, agree and he was back to something like his best in the last couple of games, making good yards out of our own end

Eckersley will get his time in the big games, and i've no doubt if he did play in the semi / final this year he wouldnt let us down, but for now, we go as strong as we can

I said when people were arguing for Bevan being on the wing that Miski is exactly the type of Winger you need in these end of season crunch games. He can make the hard yards - and he can still finish the tries
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

Agree miski is the better option for yardage and experience.Only difference if he gets in a lot of space then zak is probably more dangerous.Obviously again miski is the choice but if hes not 100% then maybe go for zak

That was back in days when Bevan "was never a half in the memory of man", though! :P
And Miski was "not Wigan class".
