I get that but what i mean is he doesnt strike me as someone who is money driven and im sure he's on a decent contract with Wigan. Plays in black boot and no fancy hair styles or tattoos - he's a bit like our Paul Scholes i think a humble lad who just wants to play well for WiganBlackpool_Pie wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 5:07 pmYou can be as grounded as you like, the allure of mega bucks, a warmer climate and a much healthier financial future for yourself and your family can turn anyone's head. I don't begrudge any player from wanting that. The NRL is far and away the better league and players will want to test themselves over there. It doesn't mean they're not 'grounded' to want that for themselves and their familyWigan_forever1985 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 30, 2024 3:34 pm Personally i think Smith will be here as long as we want him he seems a very grounded lad
WIGAN WARRIORS halfback Harry Smith “could be at the top of the list” for NRL clubs, according to Fox Sports.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

I get that sense too, but who knows what's going on inside people's heads? Either way, we've had years more than we ever expected out of Field, French, and Harry too, so we can hardly complain. And I don't think Harry's game would be so suited to the NRL.Wigan_forever1985 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 31, 2024 10:28 am

If Harry goes to the NRL it could ruin him.
He’s a decent SL player but he’d be out of his depth in the NRL.
Stay here Harry and build on the legacy your well into now.

Why would Harry be out of his depth ? Honestly pisses me off how much some folk think the NRL is the dogs doodahs while slating our own . I personally think Harry Smith would more than hold his own .
There’s a massive misconception re how good they are (NRL) compared to other countries. Super league all day for me . Arrogant Aussies get shut down every year in the world club challenge and then come out with every excuse they can think off as to why they lost .

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Don't see how, in fact I'd say his game is more suited to the NRL.

I think Harry's relative lack of pace would be shown up more in the NRL than SL. But I hope he stays at Wigan anyway.

IMO it's his lack of pace that might be a problem for NRL coaches. He doesn't offer much running threat. I reckon we've got a good chance of keeping him in SL for that reason.

That’s what I think. Hence why I don’t think he’d be good enough in the NRL.
And yes their is arrogance from the Aussies, that’s why I love it when we get one over them, but they are better and that’s just the way it is.

That team of NRL players didn't do to well vs a England team with mostly SL players.
The NRL is only better for one reason and that money meaning more people play the sport and they have a competitive league.
We have shown repeatedly in the WCC our best teams can compete with theirs the issue is it's only the top team.
