Warriors Women welcome 24 Academy signings

On Monday Night, Wigan Warriors hosted an Academy signing event in the 1872 Lounge at Robin Park Arena as we welcomed 24 Women’s Academy signings to the Club for 2025.

The signings, along with their families and Community Club coaches were welcomed to Robin Park Arena for the event as they signed onto the Women’s Academy programme for the 2025 season.

Of the 24 signings, 11 are on the current England Rugby League DiSE (Diploma in sporting excellence) programme. The evening saw Head of Youth Genna Banks address the players along with Women’s Head Coach Denis Betts, speaking on expectations and anticipation ahead of the 2025 campaign.

2025 Women’s Fixtures Announced

WIGAN WARRIORS WOMEN’S 2025 BETFRED WOMEN’S SUPER LEAGUE FIXTURES HAVE TODAY BEEN ANNOUNCED, WITH THE WARRIORS TO START AT HOME TO CHAMPIONS YORK VALKYRIE.

As announced at 8am this morning, Denis Betts’ Women’s side will host Champions York Valkyrie at home on Friday 16 May before then welcoming Barrow Raiders to Robin Park Arena on Sunday 25 May.

Wigan then end the month away to Leeds Rhinos at AMT Headingley Stadium (Saturday 31 May).

Following the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 7th June, Wigan will then be on the road to face Huddersfield Giants (Sunday 15 June).

The Warriors then welcome three consecutive home fixtures in Summer, facing Leigh Leopards for the first time in Super League competition, as well as a derby against St Helens and the return fixture against Huddersfield Giants.

An away trip to Warrington followed by a home tie against Leeds Rhinos is then backed up with a period on the road as Wigan will travel to face Leigh (Sunday 17 August), York (Sunday 24 August), Barrow (Saturday 30 August) and St Helens (Friday 5 September) away from home.

The Warriors will end the regular season as hosts to Warrington Wolves on Sunday 14th September.

The 2025 BWSL campaign will have 14 rounds, concluding on the weekend of September 13/14 before the top four face off in the Play-Offs on September 21 for a spot in this year’s Grand Final on Sunday October 5 – which will be hosted at the home ground of the highest-ranked club.

All eight BWSL sides will begin their hunt for silverware in the Betfred Challenge Cup on the weekend of April 5/6, with the final returning to Wembley Stadium for only the third time on Saturday June 7.
