Do you think AM deserves a ban? Can't see it happening myself.
Whilst we are on the subject how on earth did Terry Newton get away with pole axing Fitzgibbon when the Aussie's scored their first try??? Now that did look premeditated it was off the ball and it ended up with the guy spending most of the first half off the pitch. Great player-total headcase at times.

Morely has got a £2000 fine for a reckless tackle. So they decided it was not a deliberate attempt to inure which was the charge he was referred to the panel to face I think. That, IMO, throws the debate over the tackle open again. Is a reckless tackle a sending off offense or should it have been on-report to be dealt with by the panel?Welski posted:

As to Newton the Aussies have been thwarted in an attempt to cite Newton for the Fitzgibbon incident because they failed to do so in the time limit.
This is very interesting in my opinion because whatever you think of the incident itself it just shows you the Aussies will try anything off-field to gain an advantage.
We see bad tackles all the time in SL go unpunished but when was the last time you heard of a player being cited by a club?
It just goes to show that the Aussies will try and win the series off the field as well as on it and just what the nature of these games are - all out war where they will use officialdom as much as anything to try an secure an advantage.

I totally agree maybe thats why the Aussies tend to be pretty successful at most of the sports they attempt. It may not be our way of doing things but perhaps they've got a point!!DaveO posted:

Something has troubled me about that tackle ever since Saturday, for a start the Aussies know Morley and may have been thinking get him talked to by the ref early on and slow him down a bit but the bit that really puzzles me is that if Kearns had been as badly hurt as everyone is claiming why did he not drop the ball at any point? If you are carrying a ball and someone runs toward you and smacks you in the face and you are either injured or startled then your first reaction would surely be to let go of the ball but this didn't happen - anyone any ideas why ?? :conf:

dont let your victories go to your head or your failures go to your heart
Re: Has Morley suffered en...
I think you guys have it spot on. Now that Newton fellow he knows how to flatten someone so there is no need for acting !!!

Its time to stop being so damned British and understanding about it all and get stuck in to 'em because Saturday is our last chance to do anything about the Ashes or they'll be skipping back on that plane, all smiles, saying "we did it again boys with a team everyone said wasn't up to strength" and laughing at us as they go. Sadly I'm not going to the KC on Saturday as I left it too late to get tickets, I've already got them for Huddersfield and have no wish to be going there hoping we can just win one match as consolation so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE all you who are going make the biggest noise of all time and shout our boys home. Thanks

Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.
Re: Has Morley suffered en...
my memory is a bit vague on this so if anybody can help. a few years ago' in i think! a tri nations tournament morley was cleaned out himself from what i can remember a far worse tackle than his on saturday against either new zealand or austrailia. if my memory serves me right no action at all was taken then.
