I’m hearing that the former Wigan winger has passed away aged 85.

Can't find anything on line about this, other than on Facebook but sad if true. What a wing pairing of Lake and Boston we had back then.

Wigan Rugby League Heritage Society

It is with great sadness that the WRHS has learnt of the passing of Trevor Lake. Born in Rhodesia, Trevor signed for Wigan in October 1962. In 1964–65, he was the Leagues top try scorer with 40 tries and won the 1965 Challenge Cup scoring two tries in the 20–16 win vs Hunslet.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Trevor was an absolute flyer.
One of the first I saw in a Wigan shirt.
Was behind the sticks at Wembley and remember his two tries well.
RIP Trevor.

For some reason the teachers let us watch the film of the 1965 final on the last day of school, on a projector of all things...

Trevor's try and that game had a big influence on me following Wigan and RL to this day - thank you Trevor.

What a servant!

We’ve had many a fine winger: Seddon, Miller, Leytham, Ring, Morley, Boston… Lake was amongst them.

Condolences to Trevor’s danily
