I wondered that, but these players are out of contract so the club has no say.
Good point!

For me, Lees is a head scratcher, we are overborne with props (and about time!) with a number of promising lads working through the Academy/Reserves. Is Lees better? if not, can we improve him?
On paper, he is an England International so a decent signing I suppose?
Peet and Wane rate him very highly.

Rightly so in my humble opinion.

Whether we sign him or not, it's good that the search for continuous improvement, shown during the Uncle Mo and IFL's years is firmly embeded within the clubs DNA.

Lees is a good player but one I feel could be so much more with the right coaching team guiding him

Surely not.
As of a month or so ago this all depended on an immediate player exit from Wire, which still hasn't happened as far as I'm aware.

Lees agreed to come to Wigan & Byrne has agreed to sign for Wire, as for anything being signed as of now I'm not so sure.
I presume you are talking about this season as Liam has definitely signed for Wire in 2026.

Lees has signed a new deal at saints so assuming we will still be after someone to replace Byrne.

Walters and Eseh.
I thought Walters was a replacement for Bateman, we need to replace experience with experience

We lost Cooper, we never replaced him due to promising youngsters, fair enough replacing a player at Byrnes level with a promising youngster but not experienced warhorses
