Wakefield's victory came at a cost as two key men went down injured.
Wakefield Trinity are sweating on the fitness of two key players after they were forced from the field during their Challenge Cup victory over Huddersfield Giants.
Fullback Max Jowitt was helped from the field after suffering an awkward-looking injury while prop Matty Storton didn't return following half-time after he went down for treatment after the hooter had sounded.
Injuries to both will be of concern to coach Daryl Powell, with the pair both excellent during the opening stages of Wakefield's return to Super League. Jowitt has been a key component in the Wakefield attack that has earned high praise while Storton has been excellent in the pack for Trinity following his move from Hull KR.
Jowitt's injury came after a mid-air collision with Ashton Golding as the pair contested a high kick. The fullback held his lower leg after returning to ground and after treatment from the physio, the call was made to make a change. Lachlan Walmsley moved to fullback, Oli Pratt went to the wing and Jack Croft went to centre.
Meanwhile, Storton's injury was somewhat unclear as he went down once the hooter had sounded. However, after receiving some treatment on the field, he subsequently went down the tunnel and didn't return after the break, not featuring again during the remainder of the half.
Powell is set to provide an initial update on the pair during his post-match press conference. Wakefield are back in action on Friday when they take on Hull FC, who shocked everyone by defeating Wigan Warriors on Saturday. Trinity defeated the Giants 22-12 to secure back-to-back wins after defeating Warrington Wolves last week.

Wakefield Trinity suffer double injury blow before Hull FC clash
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
