This might not make sense but i once heard off my mate that his grandad watched stanley gene play in an u 18s match in oz or new gunnia were ever and when worked out his age was over 35. Why doesny he tell us. There is no way he is 31 look at his face looks like a tree trunk.

Whom ever he is sign him quickly then we can make him a folk hero, especially if he's an Aussie!!!!

Got it on me today, sorry to say.

I hope we win or I may have to start posting some good stuff to liven the place uponce more :lol:

Going back to the original point, before Brad Davies I suggest the oldest player might have been Mark Forster, who was 37 when he finally retired. He still had a decent bit of speed on him as well. Anthony Sullivan was another one who kept his speed well into his 30's, and his centre partner Paul Newlove wasn't too far behind age-wise.

But then, I don't believe Stanley Gene's claimed age either. Or perhaps I just don't want to accept that's he still younger than me...

Wasn't Offiah 35 or 36 when he finished at Salford ?
