psychological booost ( Not for Chris Ashton who has worked his plums off and then finds himself behind Kris Rads again. I thought Kris was a fantastic player but time moves on and we have a star of the future in Chris Ashton lets not look back lets look forward. )

My pennies worth!
If Rads was to come back on a game by game basis, the long term benefits by letting Ashton learn from the Master would be tremendous.
Yes Ashton is a more than adequate FB, but he is still learning and is probabaly under more pressure than most, as this position is often the last line of defense.
I'm fairly sure if you asked Ashton, he would agree that having Rads back as a mentor would help his career no ends. It would also relieve some of the pressure on this young lad.
Finally, what a psychological boost to the team

Heartening news Mrs. Carney, but there's a massive difference between being fit and match fit.
not at wigan there ain't, hell sometimes you don't even have to be fit to be match fit
Does any one remeber that fitness tesat that edwards took many years ago. I think we were playing widnes in a semi final and he had to go to london to see a specialist about the problem and have a fitness test there. Edwards said he ran round the car park when he got there and declared himself fit! Can't remember the score but what an attitude

I don't think there is much that Ashton can learn now from wathcing Rads.
To suggest a 19 year old player who has played about 12 games of first grade RL has nothing to learn from watcing one of the worlds best and most experienced full backs in action is nonsense.
Ashton was probably grown up watching Rads, what Ashton need now is to be out there and learn from experiance. If Rads did come back in a coaching role then that would be ok but there is only so much you can learn from wathcing and talking and I think Ashton is at the stage were he can only learn from playing.
The current state of play is thet we need to avoid relegation. A fit Radlinski is a better full back than Ashton so if Radlinski were fit and available Wigan would be mad not to play him.

There is no time for such considerations as giving Ashton or any other young player experience instead of playing the better player.

If Radlinksi is fit and available, play him. Ashton getting experience comes a long way down the list after avoiding relegation.

That depends where you want to look forward from, Nl1 or SL.

Radlinksi, if fit, is a better player than Ashton.

We can't afford the luxery of not playing the best players available in our situation.

im happy he's coming back as he'll give the team a lift, every 1 in rl respect radders ( e.g when feka came over he was asked who he was most impressed with and he said radders.)

i'd play either him or ashton centre.

calderwood, vaeliki and ashton, goulding with radders at the back.

1 thing we'll get with him back is a better chase after a kick.

If we win on sunday and then go on a run that sees us safe Rads will become the biggest legend to ever wear the shirt.

To risk his body for money is a big gamble but to play for nothing is nothing short of total loyalty.

Give him the freedom of Wigan if this comes off.

If we stay up I bet Radders will never have to buy himself a drink again whilst on a night out in Wigan Town Centre. :D
