I really didn't believe that we could win last night, not against saints. I was just hoping for an improvement and that's what we got. I'm happy with the result because now we look like a team who can win games. The improvement was there for everybody to see and everybody should be proud of the performance last night.
Proud to be a Wiganer!!!

Get a life mate! If you can't see reasons for optimism in tonights performance then you need to go to specsavers! Just watched the game again on TV and as Eddie said; "This is not top against bottom, this is top against second!" We lost to the best side in superleague (currently by 6 points!) by 4 tries to 3, 2 of which we gifted them! Add to that the 4 points given to them by Klein and the fact that no-one else in SL has beaten them (except Hudds against a weakened side) so it is hardly a disgrace to lose to them! Looking at the fixture list for the rest of the season, there is only Leeds on that form that will give us a game. I do accept though that we do need to show that form in every game from now on, but come on; credit where it's due![/i]
Unlike you, it would appear, I have high expectations. Being narrowly beaten by a team with one eye on the quarter final doesn't do it for me.
We need to start winning. being valliant losers is no good.
You obviously miss the point people are making completly. Before you can start to win games you have to be good enough to do so. Up until now our side have never looked capable of giving the top six clubs a game. THE IMPROVEMENT IN ATTITUDE AND PERFORMANCE was clear to see by anybody who has watched this team this season. I can only conclude that this was the fist Wigan match you have watched OR you have zero knowledge of rugby league it has to be one or the other
You are wrong on all counts. It is fact that all teams put in extra effort for a derby. Let's see how we do against Leeds.

Including Saints, presumably.

I am very proud of the lads tonight. They really wanted it and defence was pretty damn good. Attacking wise i think we are still a bit away from where we wanna be but its looking promising. We needed the Stains game to really test ourselves and i dont think saints will be made to work harder for a win for the rest of the season.
I've never felt more like singing the Blues
When the Wiganers win and the Leythers lose.
