The team, etc.

Post by warriors »

This is just a list off the things i have heard about the team etc. On how they played today. But if anyone dosent think that an know's the truth then say.

1. The tackleing was bad. They had no idea on what they was doing at all.

2. Luke Robinson. He is just a kid, an he is under way to much pressure. we just nee lam back, an Robinson gose in his place if need. We all no that he will be the next Lam. he is just no way near ready yet. An he just needs a break, with all the pressure he is haveing.

3. The formation that they have for the players. I heard this new one, that might be better for them. But i kind of forgot some of it. Something about bringing Danny Orr back, an putting Sean up front. that might not be right. If anyone knows it, then can they say.

4. Hock did two high tackles. That is very stupid, now he will be band from some games now.

5. Andy farrel. From what has bin said. He was the only kind of player that had played at his best. Which i will give all my credit.

P.S
I heard that a women ran out of somewhere. because of how they played, or something like that.

The tackling was bad in parts and they broke our line far too many times, but there was some good tackling from Hock and Tickle on occassions. Hock played very aggresively yesterday and went in far too high, he was lucky not to get binned or sent off for one of his more blatent high shots. I'm not sure if Ganson put him on report, if he did I think he'll be looking at a game or two like Scully.

As for Robinson, all he gets is stick, as you say he's just a kid but as Greg said on GMR yesterday he plays in a pivotal position and if no-one supports him then there's nothing he can do. He only looks good if he supplies a good pass for a runner. If Lam had played yesterday it would have been exactly the same. How many times did you see us go forward and the ball carrier looked to offload before or during the tackle and there was no-one there to take it from him. Trouble is with Luke is he's lighter than all our forwards and just gets pummelled.

Don't know what your on about with formations. Thought there was only one formation in rugby, do you mean game-plans?

There were quite a few people leaving as early as the 70th minute which I always find disappointing, the last thing the team needs is the fans deserting them, not exactly a confidence boost is it. Still, there were a good proportion giving support at the very end.

According to the GMR commentary Hock did indeed go on report for the second-in-two-minutes of his high shots.

Something else Gregs also said was that Robinson and Orr haven't clicked at all, indeed 6, 7 and 13 are not working together. I'll mention that in a moment but whilst I agree about the lack of options for passing, his kicking has also been criticised with yesterday being very ordinary by all accounts. But I'm also wondering just for how long we can keep mentioning the fact Luke is a kid? He's been in and out of the squad for almost a year now, and it is a pivotal position. How long can we give him to become the new Lam?

The "formations" thing is the link between the halves and loose-forward again. Apparently the reason for playing Farrell in the 2nd row was to move him out wide and take him out of the loose-forward role where the rest of the team were relying on him too much. Unfortunately O'Laughlin doesn't have as much influence at lock as Faz especially with Orr and Luke not really gelling so rather than releasing Farrell to do something different, the ball's not really going anywhere much at all. Mike Gregory said he would rethink this plan so I think we should expect to see Farrell back at loose forward in the next game. One thing that a listener to GMR suggested was as well as bring Faz back into the middle was to move Orr to 7 and O'Laughlin to 6, with Luke dropping to the bench. That may also be not too daft IMO.

i was at the game and huddersfield where just as bad as wigan with high tackles it wasn't a dirty game. there where a few moments of madness but nothing to nasty.wigan seem to lose there way a bit and huddersfield took full advantage like they did last year!there's nothing positive to take from the game other than we can't play any worse!!!

I do think that Hock needs to watch his tackling though, he seems to be the main offender of late. A few weeks ago it was Pongia that was going in a bit rash but he seemed a little cleaner against Hudds, although he didn't really do a lot.
