Anyone else getting a tad anoyed with pathetic serporters of other clubs.
Re: Anyone else getting a ...
Surely you can't play an unregistered player, they wouldn't be insured would they.
I am not sure whether there was any money remaining in our budget before we signed Radders back. Maybe there was but we couldn't pay Kris because the money was already ear-marked for Fielden? We've offloaded some players to free up more space, we'll be screwed if we make the play-offs though and the players expect win bonuses!
How could we have broken the salary cap during the Warrington game? You can't spend £1.7m on wages in one game. If you had multiplied up Warrington's wage during the play-offs last season would they have exceeded the cap in a similar manner? Isn't this why Lima has been offloaded, in anticipation that the Roosters will finish outside the Top 6 and Morley will be eligible to play at the end of the year?
My point being... you can do a lot within the rules that, at first, doesn't seem legitimate.

The salary cap became a flat rate cap in 2004. The level of 1.8 million for that season was set in 2003. Various figures were bandied about incluidng £1.3 million which is what Cas and other smaller teams wanted.primrose-n-blue posted:
Rubbish Mike...You team was in breach of the salary cap...because clubs new a season in advance of the pending changes.
It is a fact that contracts spanned those two season and had Cas got their way, several clubs would have needed a dispensation the following season.
In fact Hethrington of Leeds is on record as saying the level was set such that only one club would actually be affected, Wigan, because coincidentally his club paid about 1.8 million quid in wages.
It was not that Leeds reduced their wage bill to be compliant witht eh cap, that is what their wage bill already was!
It was Danny Tickle. What you fail to grasp is Wigan were given a level of slary cap to spend and even though they signed Tickle they didn't break it.Rather than release players to bring Wigan in line, Chairman Mo revealed the details to the league and asked for concideration on the size of previous contracts....It was granted by a majority vote, then what did Wigan do...they went out and signed another player streight after, wish I could remember who it was.
Do Warrington now they are cash rich not pay up to the limit of their cap? If it were for some reason higher than anyone elses then you can bet your house on the fact they would utilise the money.
No ots yout opinion where you ignore the whole senario of what wenton at the time the cap was introducred because it suits your argument.Wigan had another season of silverware too on the back of it.
This ain't trolling. It's dam facts.
It is this selective vision than annoys us.
How does that work? The salary cap is audited once when all the wages have been paid.PS

We all know that for the game against Warrington you could have possibly been in breach of the salary cap.
You can't play unregistered players. If Wigan had not registered him he would either have still been a Brdford player or no ones player (assuming Bradford had de-registerted him). It's a fact that Wigan did not register Fielden with the RFL as a Wigan player until 45mins before kick off after pressure from the RFL, does this not set off alarm bells or at least some question why this was so??
You can't play unregistered players.Come on...I know your thinking something fishy has gone on there even the die-hards that are in denial can't turn their backs on this one.
It's obvious that Mo was hoping to be able to play Fielden as an unregistered player and therfore avoiding him as a count on the salary cap.

Re: Anyone else getting a tad ...
Maybe you are right ? who knows, but the RL would still like Wigan to prove they are operating within the Salary cap and suddenly KB is of to the Galpharm, or has Uncle Mo and DW got his sums wrong ? it will come out in the wash won't it lets hope they have got there sums correct or a fine and points deduction will be possible.

The apostrophe in "supporter's" (as opposed to the plural: "supporters")!
If you're going to correct spellings, which I rarely do, at least get your own right..and it's "grammar", by the way, not grammer.

You forgot to add that Wigan are the only club to of been scrutinised by an independant investigation and found NOT to be braking the rules. Also remember that other clubs had been fully profesional by the third and fourth year that we did. You make it out like most clubs were not pofesional and that is an out and out lie.primrose-n-blue posted:Rubbish Mike...You team was in breach of the salary cap...because clubs new a season in advance of the pending changes.mike binder posted:

Look...I have no reason to post msg's just to wind you up.
I enjoy talking all things rugby league and it just so happens that you pies are the best at it.
To be really honest...Wigan have been my second club for years.
I have no gripes about Wigan gaining an advantage. If the clubs are willing enough to let Chairman Mo walk all over them so be it.

What Wigan did was to drag the other clubs who came kicking screaming and winging into the profesional era of the game. The other clubs realised the improvements profesionalism brought and have never forgiven us for it
