I have read all the arguements for and against MO getting the chop, when push comes to shove do you really think DW or anyone else cares what we think, they have the money we do not, and when all is said and done we will still support the team because we are Wigan and nothing else matters

LINDSAY MUST STAY AND KEEP THE FAITH
This is a guy who loves Wigan Rugby League. Of course he made some bad errors on the playing front but he has also made some great moves.
Brian Noble
Stuart Fielding
Dallas
Dobson
Brian Fletcher
Fighting Union for Kkris Radlinski
Retaining Farrel to the end of his fit carrear and
selling him to uniaon for 600K
Yes he is always the scape-goat when things go wrong but no one ques up to let him know when he has done good

Sorry but I can see Jims point of view. I was very very young when we relegated. I then remember all the success achieved and for that I always cut ML and Jack Robinson a bit of slack compared to others.

John Martin should have been made chairman years ago. He is an astute businessman.

DW knew about the salary cap infringement and he is the owner of the club and his money has put us where we are.MO is getting the stick for it as he is he is the chairman they made a decision that they thought was right for the club at the time.If we were not in the relegation spot it would not matter so much .The decision they took last year probably saved us from relegation last year but has backfired on them this season. If you break the rules you pay for it the thing wrong is the salary cap itself and who helped to put it place MO .Lets look at it another angle DW knew that the club would be docked points and he still paid out £450.000 for Stuart Fielden a big gamble if went down as all contracts for SL are void if you get relegated .Lets hope in the future that DW takes a more involved role in the running of WIgan RL .I think he realiased this when he moved MO across to the Latics and appointed 2 more on the board of Wigan RL.Love him or hate him DW has the money a lot of other clubs in SL would fall over backwards to have an owner with his money. The implications are the Owner and the Chairman KNEW they were going over the cap thats why they pleaded guilty.DW must have sanctioned this as in the Wigan Observer he is saying dont blame MO so he must have had a decision in this.MO has not the run the club as it should have been run and we are in freefall lets hope the parachute opens up and we are saved.

If he worked directly for JJB Sports or any other large company and he overspent their budget by £80,000 he would be sacked for gross misconduct. I know large sporting teams are slightly different due to differences in ownership and sponsorship. I agree that he has done more than anyone for the good of this club, however, Like Fraggle and Flash have said, maybe his best days are behind him.
If Whelan could find someone with the knowledge and vision that we need they can have the job. We need someone who is passionate about Wigan RLFC and someone who has the same fire in their belly that Lindsay had 20 years ago.
20 years ago when our glory days first started (for the current generation of fan) we bought our way back into the top flight because there was no salary cap then. It was a lot easier to go out and buy the star players and in effect buy our success. Now though we are having to work within the confines of a salary cap that IMO is far too small to allow the larger clubs in Superleague expand and develop. In NL1 with a salary cap of £400k It is going to be a lot harder and take a lot longer than before to get back to the top of the top flight.
Whilst I don't particularly like the way that Wigan Watcher constantly predicts nothing but doom and gloom and almost laughs in the face (IMO) of people who are confident we will stay up, I think he has a point in calling for Lindsay to resign, although I have a few reservations about the way his is going about it.

I would guess you would have thought a response would result in your comments and you would be correct.

I will tell you your comments are completely wrong regarding myself.

I would not laugh or have laughed in anyone’s face that is not my style. I respect everyone’s views and respond accordingly. I have strong views on most things in life and always speak my mind. Having strong opinions on matters can sometimes be taken the wrong way and I fully understand that is the case sometimes but this must not stop people having strong opinions at anytime.
Self diagnose does not benefit anyone really so I will not continue.

My postings are to bring about debate, sometimes heated sometimes other, I make no apologies for stirring emotions in fellow forum members. But I will always respect everyone.

What I will say if I offend anyone I will apologise without question.

I hope you accept my response as it is said with hand on heart.
I accept your response and I want you to know that this was not intended to come across as a personal attack upon yourself. I was just referring to things that have been discussed between us in the past, and as you say sometimes heated. I agree everyone has their own opinions and people will always disagree to some extent what is said.

But it's still cheating! Are you saying breaking the rules is OK? Does the club's good name not matter? We're not Saints.

And anyway, there's no way we'd have been relegated last season, we finished 23 points above Leigh! I don't think McDonald, Guisset and Botham made that much difference.
