Carney Return

Post by adrenalinxx »

GOLD Coast had its first day of high drama in the NRL yesterday, with talk that wing Brian Carney wants out of his Titans contract and anger at Steve Turner's decision to spurn the club.

Speculation is mounting that Carney, the Great Britain international playing this season with Newcastle, is homesick and wants a return to England.
Carney is contracted to play next season with Gold Coast.

Titans coach John Cartwright was yesterday concerned at the rumours.

"There is a rumour going around and I want to ring Brian about them," Cartwright said.

"But he definitely hasn't told anyone about not wanting to be here next season.

"(Titans football manager) Scott Sattler is talking to Brian almost daily about his visa.

"A couple of people have asked me about it but as far as I'm concerned, he's coming here.

"There isn't any doubt at all."

The Titans are privately confused over claims Carney is homesick given his family is spread throughout Britain and not located in one town.

I'd be happy to see Carney back at the JJB.

Now thats a rumor in the making.

Dallas going and we need another winger.

2 + 2 = Carney coming back or
just another boring rumor.

I'm not so sure.
Athough he had an almost "cult" status, he let us down in his last season and seemed to be saving himself for the NRL.
Plus, how could we afford him anyway?
No dount he could go to any other SL team as they don't get punished like we do!

I agree but cold that be down to coaches. Seems Noble comes in and within 6-8 weeks were getting the same side out.

That has not happened since Raper was here.

Carney (aka sicknote) didnt have a good last season with us but maybe now hes realised how much he misses it he can return on top form! He doesnt seem to have had the same liking for the doctors this season and maybe wigan getting our new coach has given him a few things to think about?

Let the lovely man back. He's done well for the Knights and If we could afford him we should ahve him back.

Nearly every woman fan would chip in for his air fare home.
That includes me :exc: :)
