rubbish just rubbish

Post by the grinch »

to say im dissapointed would be an understatement!i am totaly bemused at what is happening. we are letting our young talent walk away from the club in fact forcing them to leave the club and signing old farts?this is just not good enough from a wigan team. there is always the same people who try there hearts out but they cannot do it all on there own. im not going to have a go at dennis betts as he also looked like he was watching a video nasty.it was huddersfield all over again.i shudder to think what the score would have been if we had been playing stains or bradford. what the hell is going on with the ref's. again some very strange goings on.

What was Video Ref and Ganson thinking. That was never a try which took them ages to decide. Hogdson was poor on the wing, they kept putting him under pressure from the kick. Quite a good stadium though

Just got back... what a complete pile of rubbish we were tonight. I know it's awful to say it but the best thing that came out of tonight is that Orr got injured. He was absolutely pathetic again, he's not had one good match yet. We shouldn't be loaning out Luke to Cas we ought to be sending Orr back. He made one good move then threw the ball straight to a Warrington player.

I'm not quite sure why people are slagging off Denis Betts how is any of this his fault, we were absolutely abismal in defence and just about every other aspect, you can't blame the coach for player errors. By the time we started to look good about ten minutes into the second half it was too late and the panic play came in.

I don't know how many times they broke our defence, Nat Wood and Lee Briers ran us ragged and even Kris Radlinski stood no chance, even though that was partly due to some great Warrington support play. Hodgson had a terrible game, is he scared of running with the ball or is he not fully fit, because he didn't seem it. How many times did he pass the ball in to Kris instead of running it taking us back about five metres.

Today we looked like a bunch of aging has beens and I'm sorry but if all these rumours are true about us getting 28+ year old ex-Aussie favourites we're shafted! O'Conner looked old today, Gary Connolly wasn't too bad but he certainly isn't spritely in defence is he. Farrell for me was the only person that seemed to care, he was running forward with great determination but go no support. Craig Smith dropped the ball three times, it just isn't good enough.

I think Lammy went off with a knee injury, that's what I thought was wrong with him, very much doubt it was a tactical change. Orr came off with what looked like a knee injury too. The replacement scrum half Mark Smith, I thought did more after coming on that Orr and Lam did put together.

Yet again the refereeing was an absolute joke. Ganson on several occassions let play continue until he heard the roar of the Warrington crowd. Also who was the video ref? Did he nip for a brew and leave the replay and the clock running? For me it was a knock on. Then later on when we had a try checked I couldn't tell either way but we got no attacking bias. The bent Scouser also went to the video ref for Tickles try that had absolutely nowt wrong with it! This man can't be for real!

We can't blame the refereeing though, nor can we really blame Denis Betts, the only people to blame are the players on the field that just didn't perform and a great performance from Warrington, they deserved it tonight!

Absolutely shocking. The only positive tonight was my car still being in one piece after parking it near the 3 Pigeons pub, a stone's throw from the ground. There has to be a reason why the locals don't park there.

We haven't played adventurous attacking rugby once this season, and don't think we made two successful passes in one tackle until after we were 22-0 down. When we started throwing the ball around, it briefly loked like a comeback might be on until we failed to ground the ball properly. Then this was followed by the 3 minute video ref decision. There were two reasons he should've known to disallow the try. One was the obvious knock on which he should've spotted at full speed never mind 12 replays, and two, they gave themselves up and were waiting for us to tap the ball on the 20!

Ganson was plucking decisions out of thin air again, and didn't even have the brain to stop the clock for over a minute whilst Orr was being treated. He failed to penalise their water carrier for obstruction too. How obvious does it have to be that he is coaching every time he runs on?

Final grumble. Briers again. I wish someone would plant this scrote. When Hodgy grounded a fraction short, he immediately ran to the 20 metre line for a restart and argued the point when the decision was given (correctly for once). My hatred for this bloke really is based on more than the fact that he was brought up in Knowsley Road.

What a ridiculous thing to say. Betts said all along he was working with Mike even when Mike was in the USA so to blame Denis is absolutely stupid. As mentioned elsewhere I didn't see the game but everyone knows the coach doesn't drop the ball, miss tackles, be offside and all the usual things associated with a loss like this. The players have to take the flack, the coach can take the flack if he fails to do anything about this for several matches.

As for Mike Gregory, Chairman Mo is insisting he takes as long as is necessary to recover. In my opinion, this is a very sensible idea, the guy's health is far more important than any rugby issue.

i think denis would more than likley use the same system that mike had.
i can`t see why he would change it. but whatever tactis we used, lets not use em again for a VERY long time..
we were cut open last night.. by briers, and mainly wood. they were 3 seconds faster than us in every aspect of the game.
& our defence was non existant first half, how many of the tries were long breaks?? TO many..

looked awful, come out strong in the second, video ref, ended the game with a farcical disision. ( sorry bout spellin... it is early!! LOL)

my only concern was the tactical withdrawal of lam.. if that was the case then denis really did make a mistake, he wasnt playing fantastic, but no worse than 10 or more players in the cherry & white at the time & scondly cos we had no one to replace him!!

oh the joy!!

we haven`t beaten a single team in the top 5 this term.. think it is time we had a good long look at ourselves... & sorted it out!

Well it didnt take long for some idiot to start calling the coach again! I dont know but im pretty sure the coach doesnt say in training

"Come on lads this week we will play crap"

The blame has to lie with the players these are the same players who were outstanding the back end of last year bar one man and that is Danny Orr. Now having been to pretty much every Wigan game since 88 I have never seen one player kill us so much when we have played against them. So i was really looking forward to seeing him pull on our Jersy. However the curse of the wigan shirt has struck again. Is it me or do some players (and fans) think that the Wigan shirt is a magical object that means you dont have to try but you will still win. Because thats really how it seems. The list of players who have come to our club and underperformed is massive, i will list a few who had great seasons before coming here and great ones after leaving

Goldspink
Mestrov
O'Neil
Johns
Stevenson

If you can think of any more please add them

As far as i could see from last nights performance there is only 1 man who runs his heart out every week and that is Faz i dread to think what would happen if he ever left. People say he is paid to much and is the reason why we cant sign anyone. Well they should pay the lad double because he takes the role of about 3 men.

There are too many people on that team who are simply not commited enough to the shirt (or seems that way). If they really tried but were still crap then i would say less but bar briers non of the warrington side would start for us. Yet last night i was appauled it was the first time since we got beat by Cas in the playoff's i havnt clapped a wigan team off. And if i remember correctly it was Danny Orr who killed us that night. I rest my case.

I said it at the start of the season and i will say it again dropping luke robinson was the wrong man to drop. We should have sent Orr back accross the hill because he left his heart in Cas.

It says ANCIENT AND LOYAL on our shirts well we will have to be prety loyal to these boys because the next four weeks are looking pretty bleak

If any of the squad are reading this please, please, please prove me wrong.

Question for ('WARRIORS')

1. Did you not go last night or watch the match because Orr did play! He played his usual poor game and then came off with an injury!

Stop trying wind everyone up, you can't really have the opposing opinion of everybody on the board even when you are factually incorrect.
