Might be a good time to have him. He is under immense pressure and will want the game to be the focus of attention rather than himself.

Erm, Rob I can tell you now a certain Mr Ganson craves attention. There are 2 types of referee IMO. Those with a GOd complex and those with a passion but inability to play sport.

Don't ask why would a ref want to be, ask why wouldn't a self obssessed, arrogant, authoritarian human being want to be?

Not all refs are like this, but Ganson certainly is and would remain so irrespective of his chosen profession.
