pesonally id pitch king with calderwood as he needs a good centre right now. bails to second row. vaealiki, retain on a 1 year deal, much less money, he seems to be doing fine with richards this year, he's been a consistant performer every week and has let no one down. he's even suprised i few fans this year and he looks to be finding his old form. goulding could always rotate off the bench as utility.
King Barrett Richards = no room

te 2 teams in the race to sign him are wigan and bulls it says. i can't see bulls getting him as they were almost over the cap if not over it last time remember? plus they just retained big joe and signed tame tupou, can't have been cheap.

if we are offloading, fletcher, favid vaealiki, withers (he'll free up a bit), maybe millard, ashton, then we'll have bags load there. vaealiki and fletcher are two of the top earners.

The money we can offer him is really quite inconsequential to the deal. What he has to decide is whether to give up his current State of Origin and International prospects? And when was the last time an Australian did that??

Even Trent Barrett had finished rep rugby by the time he signed for us.

well if you look at it that way. i reckon richards was doing pretty well for himself and i reckon he could have pushed into the aussie team at wests, you needed to see how good he was that season to understand the talent there.

Richards came over here because he wanted to do it before he had a family and thus would not need to uproot them. He wanted to travel and knew he could do it on the back of his RL talent so chose to do so while young at the beginning of his career rather then at the end.

When his contract is up with us he will have no trouble getting a start in an NRL side.

I think Richard's has taken a very level headed approach to what his RL talent can offer him and I admire him for leaving a GF winning side to satisfy his other ambitions.

If a few more of his countrymen were as clued in as Richards is we might see a few more over here at the right end of their careers.

Unfortunately most are not. They are wedded to the NRL/Australia and few have a genuine desire to come here if it isn't alongside a huge pay packet to set them up for a pension. I think Barrett wants to be here as well so I think we are lucky to have two class players who have the right motives to be in our team.

If King was making noises like Richards was when he came about sampling a different life style and so on then fine but I am suspicious of the motives of the majority of high profile Aussie NRL players.
