Surely Ray Tennant retired years ago or is there such a shortage of refs?? Must be 70
He's in his 50s, he's head coach of referees at the RFL. He was VR for the NL1 Thursday night match either last week or the week before.

Ref was ok, he got a bit pedantic at the end of the game. The game was over but he insited on giving a penalty to Widnes, something like 10 secs left, all players were shaking hands.
Not pedantic, just playing to the rules.

buttmonkey...

Did you notice what killed 'Haven in the first half? Being hammered in the penalty count. Poor discipline leads to lots of pressure against you (3 minutes in the Widnes half in the first half hour), leads to a heavy deficit at half time. Too late to turn it around once you get your act together in the second half!

Hiya Rob! Sorry I missed the game! Did you enjoy it though - constantly assessing other officials decisions/performance? Thats all that matters.

The best form of defence is attack!!

I was getting frustrated with Haven's ill-discipline. Leahy could have given more penalties than he did in that first half. They sorted it out in the second half so he did his job. Widnes were a class above them though and Haven all looked like Hillbillies with daft facial hair they'd grown.

What is all that about? Is there a shortage of razors? Or is this a new macho-rugby thing (or designed to confuse refs.) With Senior and Jamie Jones Bin Laden for Leeds, they all look rather unkempt and dirty :D

It was a very much '80s American thing. Looked daft. That fashion probably just reached West Cumbria.

Hull KR were far better in the NFP than Widnes are this season. Despite, a great start and huge investmemy, KR have struggled. It will be worse for Widnes. Look at the type of players who look good. NFP is woeful compared to SL

They were too good for us!

Twice!

At the JJB!

Think they beat Leeds, too, didn't they?
